Hey I downloaded Mother Board Monitor today and it is very surprising how hot your CPU gets while encoding. I was on my regular maching (info is posted in sig) and while encoding a VCD my temperture went from 111 F to 131F that's a load now
Mother Board Monitor VERY INTERESTING!

lol.....awww
obviously, when u are encoding, it takes alot of CPU power, and the more power it takes, the faster the process gets done (depending on ur CPU speed) and things get hot....
make sure that u have a decent CPU fan tho!
and make sure its not a crappy AMD (no comments on this please)Comment

Should be fine.
Mine runs at around that temperature (at 100% CPU utilisation) and it usually lasts for up to a day or longer (I normally set multiple jobs in one go). I have had this system for close to one and a half year, and it's had no problems at all.Comment

Mine started getting over 140F while encoding but then I installed some fans in my case and that's dropped to 129F. That is within acceptable limits. When it gets over 140F it will start acting up. So you'll be fine.Comment

the normal computer shutdown temp is 60C. I have gotten up to 60 before and It just shut down.Comment

Watercooling can be VERY effective! It can lower the temp of your system down to under 100F during full CPU usage. It is a little bit of a pain to install but it looks cool, it's very quiet and very effective.Comment

Just overclocked a friend's 2.5ghz p4 to 3.1 tonight, regular cooling (pentiums == omfg leet overclocking)
