    3D for free

I just found out about a free open-source graphics program, at http://www.blender.org/

It looks very interesting, perhaps a good hobby

I actually messed around with blender last year. It's a nice program expecially being free!

The "Gallery" particularily encouraged me----the 3d animations and movies presented were fantastic.

Yes I must agree! I wonder where they are getting the funding for such a program...

          3d photos on desktop

Any idea how to do 3d photos for use with an asus delux combo graphics card's 3d glasses?
Like take a picture on a hillside, walk across a few hundered yards and take another and use for super 3d perception.
Nothing in asus documentation, any links?

Since you guys have been working with it for a while, maybe you could enlighten me as to its capabilities. So far all I could find on the education site has been gobbly gook about the GUI buttons. I assume it takes jpg's, but can it process an small avi or mpg (or must you create the movie frame by frame?) Can you expand or shrink individual objects (so you can get Pamela Anderson to finally take the big one deep.) I've created mpg's from individual stills before and the result is always jerky action. Will blender smooth this out? Making you porn films 3D might really be a new deminsion.

Though I don't think the "Blender" project was created for producing 3d porn

Excuse please...I forgot about the purity of Gotham City denizens ( although I thought Catholic priests were pure, too.) Anyway...from what I've read it doesn't appear that blender ( and most 3D software) allows imported JPGs. Most appear to work with objects that you manipulate to form your own anime. I've recently made a few videos from sequenced jpg's by using the freeware Magic pic2ani to create an avi out of a single jpg...TMPGenc to crop out any unwanted material and line up a pic made from a slightly different angle and convert the avi to mpg, and ULead VS6 to feed individual still mpgs/avis in the storyboard to put them together. Most vids made this way are a tad jerky...and I was thinking that software that could manipulate the image might give you a few extra frames to smooth the final vid out. I've seen short mpegs that had to be made from a single jpeg where objects moved...I don't know if it was made with morphing software or what (it is 3 years old). Anyway, doing a search, I found a couple of 3D graphics packages that claim to import jpg's for around $100 USD. ULead Cool 3D Professional Studio says you can import JPG's and I found some Dutch company which claimed to be able to import JPG's AND AVI's with it's top=of=the line product. I wonder if anyone has tried anything interesting, and has some recommendations.

You are right I believe blender doesn't allow you to join jpg's in such a way that you can create animation from them. There may be some avisynth filters which can help with your jerkiness problem. You'll probably have to read up on them though.

As for the "purity" of Gotham denizens Bruce Wayne is supposed to be a billionaire playboy

Batman...many months ago you and Techno were asking if anyone knew of any good GIF joiners to make animated GIFs with. I typed Rocky and Bullwinkle into google and found sites with pics and short clips. I also discovered www.abpeag.com/ which is that usenet group's homepage crammed with tips and tutorials on what to use and how to use it. I've been downloading Maddog's videos off horny rob since 1995...he's a professional. Caution...the E stands for Erotic...so you may have to scratch your eyeballs out after viewing something off the newsgroup. I'd send you to the tame newsgroup...but their stuff sucks in comparison. I'm going to try to make a neat signature, too.
