chickeneater : Thanks for the support. I don't know how much bandwidth has been saved, since the forum doesn't use that much bandwidth anyway.

However, I did notice that Google has started indexing the forum :

So far, there's 3000+ pages indexed, should be about 20,000+ by the time Google has finished. Google rocks, BTW!!

It's too early to say yet, but forum membership for yesterday was double the normal rate

And as for the avatar, that's thanks to our new DVD Shrink forum mod, ddlooping, who has designed a new style for the forum that uses this new Digital Digest logo. The new style which should be launched later this week, once I iron out the small bugs and port over the modifications to the new theme.

I believe ddlooping has already considered the 56k issue, and the new theme is probably the same size as the current theme, probably even smaller.

What does your mod do, chickeneater? Does it make hyperlinks fade gently from one color to another when the mouse is hovered over it?

yeah, it does. the js code was a mod for phpbb, but I have vBulletin source, so It might work do some testing first on your localhost, so you don't get in trouble, and make sure you have backups
