Thanx, ormonde....will keep this in mind...hope to be moving soon. I bought a bag-phone from Bell-Atlantic (now Verizon) in 2000 when I had an RV and was taking a lot of trips into the mountains and back-country. Went all over the states and was never was out of contact (lots of wattage...but bulky). Picked up a small Sprint cel when doing extensive travel on east coast and puerto rico...and in places others couldn't reach anything, i was in contact. The small phones are pretty good in cities and 5 miles from the freeway...but they won't do you any good if you do hiking in the back country. Sprint uses samsung.
