    burning 800Mb CDs

I'm back... after a long time... and now with an off topic question:

Are CDs of 800Mb and 900Mb usable for data (as DivX movies greater than 700Mb) or only as music CDs?

I've tried to burn some data CDs using Nero's overburning that was done successfully but, when trying to copy or play the file on CD, it turns stuck!

Yes they can be used for anaythang...however some drives can't recognize the massive amount of data which is why it freezes sometimes.
Did you know you can SEARCH the forum? Fixes common problems too:

Also search on the whole Digital-Digest website:

Now I know it's not a concept problem at least... the problem is here! :\ thanks for the info!

Are there updates for firmware/driver that clears that? (I have a LG CED-8080B)

back again... after another long time...

just to complete the thread with a conclusion: (maybe this thread turns useful by others in the future)

=> the overburning described on the 1st post worked successfully and gd_nimrod was right: the problem was the drive/driver that is not able to READ the CD over 700Mb, even if it can WRITE over 700Mb!!!

i've bought a DVD recorder yesterday and now i see it can read that 800Mb CD Ive recorded 4 months ago!

        thanks!
