ppl im using it for few months startd frm early beta to the last beta 2082, now the RC1 is out i think ppl should start using it now. had no problems since last 2 3 builds and infact i think my system is more stable now, and free of intrusions thnks to new firewall.

That's interesting. Did they redesign the built-in XP firewall or is this something else altogether?


By the way, I can't find the download link to the service pack. Are you sure it's officially released? (in other words, I want some links)

yes they redesign the firewall, much better, also some under the hood changes to xp altogether, now it will be harder for certain type of viruses/worms to affect xp.

and oh yeah u gonna love the popup blocker. thats builtin function of internet explorer that comes with xp sp2

I wonder if the revised firewall will give me reason enough to ditch Zonealarm Pro (which does those tasks and more very well). I digress though...

dont know, just dont think should answer this, but will giv u a hint, try to replace ur file using the cd or repaire ur OS using ur cd.

ok ppl interested in XP SP2, here a new verion before RC2 comesout.

this is a official beta testers version, before a internim build camout by mistake ver 2111, that was way to big more then 450 mb, so im skiping that . this one is 270 mb.

removed the link that was already blocked, reason being this build 2120 is with new anti piracy **** in it and if ur using pirated/corp XP or even legal copy, insome cases, it needs to be re activated. u cant even login to safemode.

for ppl using such corp builds,

XXXXX-64X-XXXXXXX-XXXXX

anything from 641-649 and you'll find that installing this build and any that come after it impossible.

if it's 640, you're fine unless you're running one of the keys specifically blacklisted (like the FCKGW one)

so ppl not using legal xp, its time u start buying XP....

i formated my computer and reinstalled my xp (pro sp1<gotta love new computers>)

first gotta say the fire wall is awesome(but point less since i have panda platnium av/fw)
and the sharing changes are also nice
i also noticed winupdate has been changed - everytime i to search for updates the computer crashed(prob from MS end =no sp2 for ver on there update site yet?)

but after a few weeks of using service pack 2 my computers proformance droped dramaticly

not from spyware or viruses! (that i know of)

so i uninstalled it and bamm proformance back up there

any one else have that issue with sp2?

what vr of sp2 ur using, ur the frstone who having trouble using sp2 RC1, everyone i know including me, sp2 only upgrades the performance.......
