Looking for creative suggestions that WILL work

Guests coming over Friday and more on Saturday to stay (relos and friends of the missus).

Missus hates housework and, in particular, vacuuming. Strange as it may seem, so do I. In fact, I prefer to muck around with DVDs!!!

What can I do and say to get out of this horrible chore and keep playing with DVDs (at least till the guests arrive)?

Any good suggestions welcome. Please, setarip, no sarcastic responses from you.

Can't you invite a bunch of vacuum-cleaner salesmen - they love to show you how well theirs products work and they also do the job...

And, especially, bathroom cleaning products.

you can try "a emergency phone call from the panel-beaters" (needs your @ asap)
that will buy you a few hours at least

Could you take the fuse out of the vacuum cleaner and hide any spare fuses?

Then, if you are asked to replace the fuse from something else. Just say it won't work or fit.

Mentor has inside info - the car is in the chop shop at present - but unfortunately, the lovely Helena would not buy a call from them on Good Friday. Thanks anyway mate and hope Carlton lose by 20 goals.

nwg - good idea mate but we have an auto vac system (you know, one that's built into the house). I can hear you say now, "even better, if you can temporarily break it, cos there's no-one around to fix it!!!"

Well kind folks, I'm here to report that I took my punishment like the brow beaten husband that I am and did my (more than fair) share of the housework.

Hello everyone... I would just like to tell you that he did the vacuuming on his own accord. (He likes to play the browbeaten hubby). He is allowed total freedom for his DVDing as long as I am free to do my own thing. When he's DVDing at least he isn't nagging. Men are such naggers.
