teddy1 is jsparrow - I've just checked their IP addresses to confirm - it's an exact match (the only two with the exact or even partial matches).

Edit: I see now - teddy1 came before jsparrow.

Just to clarify bannings to mods - a warning should be given before someone is banned and then warn them not to break any more rules or face a banning. If they ignore the warning and break the rules again, then it's a definite banning.

Yes teddy1 and jsparrow were the same person. I checked their IP address. Both were identical. The only difference was the email. The first one was a aol.com email, the second was a yahoo.com email.

Yes I did deleted both of his post and banned both of them. (teddy1 and jsparrow's)

Edit 1: Thank you for the clarification on the banning rules. I was not totally sure on them.

Another not really clear thing - if someone posts "i have rented this movie" - can this be edited to skipp the rental part or should the thread be closed directly.

Some old mods used to edit the post and give a hint of the forum rules without locking the thread.

I think jsparrow, in particular (sorry for suggesting the ID everyone!) was clearly flaunting the rules and was in for immediate banning. I am sure jmet did no wrong there. The guy had effectively been warned anyway.

Teddy1 was particularly nasty in his second post and basically stood up and said "shoot me". In this regard, I doubt there is anyone who would diagree that jmet did the right thing with him.

@cynthia: It's up to the moderator, I guess. I would probably close the post, and if I can answer the question in the same post, I would. As long as there is a warning so that there is no excuse if the user breaks the rules again.

I finally worked out what was going on.

I think Jmet did the right thing. He posted a warning in the first thread and Teddy1 didn't like it. No reason for closing of threads deserves what was written in the first post of this thread. It was a personal attack on him.

Teddy1 was taking the mickey with his jsparrow thread and tried to get round the banning. Wouldn't using another indentity result in a banning anyway?
