MGM did say she was making a copy for a friend. She did not say the copy she was making was a copy of a DVD that she didn't legally own.
Therefore, she may very well have (and I assumed) that she was making a copy of a disk to give away as a present to her friend. Now, is the making of the copy the problem or the giving it away? Probably the latter, especially if we assume (as we must) that the disk is hers to copy.
Do the forum rules stipulate that she can't make a copy of a disk she owns for a friend (which is admittedly probably illegal)? Only that she can't copy things she doesn't legally own.
Your thoughts?
