I agree that thing looked so unsafe like you said he used cork and door hinges not to mention what he did to make his tires bald

yeah that sounds like a death sentence even with a 2006 bike. maybe the movie will tell me what cork means as far as bikes go.

I seen The Hills Have Eyes the other night I thought it was very good there wasn't that much of a difference from the 1977 version except for a few cosmetic changes on the nuclear people.If you like horror you should like this they did a very good job on it

The Fog isn't out here until later this month (I think) I quite enjoyed the original when I was young tho....

you can see why his record still stands and will probably never be broken,
no brakes, no parachute, and a hell of a craftsman/artist with no fear at all

I liked the movie as well .... what really surprized me was at the end (as Chewy mentioned) the record still stands today. I guess everyone concentrated on BIGGER and FASTER. I mean with todays tech, 201.85 can't be hard to beat with a 1000cc's..... some of the crotch rockets right out of the crate do 160-180, just need to change gear ratio ..... but at the time of course a what he brought to the Salt Flats was not a modern machine, but an ole cluncker that he finely tuned ... a dham feat for the times (1967), an none the less, on a 1920's Indian .... big kahuna's !!!

In my heyday I tore down a Suzuki 550 2-cycle down to the frame and rebuilt .... got it to do 130+ (speedo didn't go higher) on the highway (early 70's)
