yeah it was quite pooey alright. the music during the credits are the only good parts to me. someone should punch oliver stone right in the chops for that movie.
i just saw...."true romance" what a bloody good movie, i sucked my wife into watching it too, telling her it was "a romantic love story" i hadn't seen it in years and forgot just about everything. i'll tell ya, i could watch it again today!

the best scene in TR was the walken/hopper exchange. man that was good. The best Tarentino movie moment for me was in Res Dogs at the diner table. Bushimis rant about tips and waiters. I just love good dialog ppl.
Oh, and if you want to see the "cringe" movie (it actually has a warning on the movie) is In the Company of Men. This movie makes you uncomfortable from start to finish, let me know what you think.Comment

talk about reading my mind. i forgot to mention the hopper/walken scene as being a high point for me (racial, but funny as hell anyway, and i'm italian).
also liked the gary oldman scene when he said it wasn't "white boy day", then he asks that big black buddy of his and says "it ain't white boy day is it?", "no it ain't white boy day man" lol omg that made me laugh, i tell ya..."One day men will look back and say I gave birth to the 20th Century". Ok, this should piss everybody off
I am not a Tarantino fan, and consider him to be the most overrated director EVER. I have found most of his films to be mediocre, over the top, and squarely aimed at teenagers, which of course runs counter to their 'R' ratings. I respect his knowledge of film history but deplore his taste for the most part. Do we really need entire films that are an 'homage' to the craptacular blackploitation genre, or spaghetti westerns and kung-fu garbage?
Perhaps someday he will create something truly original and enjoyable, the closest he's come yet was with Kill Bill vol 2, IMHO, so I haven't abandoned all hope. Good thing he seperated it from Kill Bill vol 1, which I found to be typical Tarantino garbage.
I've put on my flame retardant suit, so flame away

I'm not gonna attack you for not liking a director I do. I probably hate a few that you like. I like this thread cause it gives alittle insight into the users tastes. The reason I like Tarentino is the use of dialog. his charactors get into the most off topic discussions and then snap right back into focus. You may be right about his rendoring of B films, the thing is I was one of those geeks who actually liked them. for me, he's just giving me another dose with his spin attached.
Anybody got anything for me on the movie "In the Company of Men"? great film for the "gotta leave the room" moments. let me know what you think.Comment

yeah i don't care for tarantino at all, i like a few of his movies but don't think he is the same calibre as someone like speilberg---that's for sure. actually i find him annoying i hate his ugly face and his lisp, why does this bastard feel the need to have cameos? the best was his appearance on leno when he was loaded, after the show jay thanked his guests as usual, and "jim beam" lol....
BTW i loved the tip dialogue in res dogs--i am the same way---i'm a cheap bastard all the way!"One day men will look back and say I gave birth to the 20th Century". Jack The Ripper - 1888

he is a director, and not an astounding actor, from what i have seen, so why all the roles? he gets more attention than uma thurman, who was excellent in kill bill, especially vol.2Last edited by anonymez; 26 Sep 2005, 02:39 PM.Comment

I guess I can hang up the flame retardant suit, you guys are full of surprises, and I will admit I do enjoy alot of the dialogue. I think he's a much better writer than director.
