my knowledge bout SCSI is limited..... i want to know why my 180 gb baracuda on SCSI ultra2 doesnt runs faster then the non ultra 2 card.
cards i have frm Adaptec....
AHA-2940UW
Data Transfer Rate
40 MByte/sec
AHA-2940U2B [IBM kinda same as U2W]
Data Transfer Rate
80 MByte/sec
now i assume my drive should works faster in terms of read / write speed on 80 MByte card?. but its the same.
though i havnt tried any benchmarking program , but iv used nero's cache speed and pinnacle studios drive test for fastest spped drive for capturing. heres what i got.
Nero's cache Speed Test
Drive C:\ 45,222KB/s [IDE Baracuda]
Drive D:\ 42,726 KB/s [Ide Baracuda]
Drive E:\ 31,232 KB/s [SCSI Baracuda] i got same on my 40 MByte Card.
Pinnacle Studio Drive test for Capture:
Drive C:\, D:\ 39000 - 45000 both read / write [IDE Baracuda]
Drive E:\ Read 34000 - 37000 Kbyte/sec [SCSI Baracuda]
Write 34000 - 35000 Kbyte/sec
C, D are on same drive
