I surfed a little on the forum, but I read with attention rules before to subscribe, because it was the right thing to do. When you enter on a community you must know rules to avoid mistakes and misunderstandings.
No.....I did not read the rules....but reading other locked threads and the referrals the admin's and moderator's referring to caused me to read the rules.
But PA 2004 quote is quite right.
really are nothing more then common sense and courtesy
Because at one time or another, we were all newbies. The learning curve here is steep and easy to fall off. But the rules are made to protect everyone, not just the forum.
Different countries have different laws and this forum is just trying to maintain a medium that will be attractive to any country's citizen. Just because it is legal in one country today may be illegal in another country. To mention legal/constitutional challenges to the laws can force new interpretations of even current laws. But the laws are constantly changing. Your country rules can legislate changes to the laws. IE: Finland changed Jan1st,2006 and DVD43 stopped hosting from there.
If in doubt, find out exactly what your country rules are and THEN play it safe!
PS My hat goes off to ADMIN and all the moderators here for a very thankless job. You get two thumbs up from me
Right, I didn't read the rules til one of my threads was locked, and I was like "there are rules?"
I am used to IRC which has no rules, but I have learned quickly, especially after being banned for a day (and being banned from countless IRC chatrooms for "being annoying"... ruthless mods!)
I took a quick look, basically read the bold words and if I saw one that I didnt understand I would read that one but I really think that was just rule 6 just to know for sure whats to be expected.
