Good PS2 games?

I just got a PS2 (i kno im late).. the only reason I got it was cause I got a really good deal on it. I havent had a console since N64.. that was the sh*t. I just need to know some good games.. im gonna name some games and if you could name some similar games for the PS2 that would be cool.

- Goldeneye for N64
- A good single player game with a good story.. like Zelda for N64
- A good war-based game (not socom)

I have the GameCube... but whatever.
War-based I would say Metal of Honor, I love that game.
Goldeneye - maybe Nightfire if they make it for PS2?
Not sure about RPG as I hate the PS2 so I only know about GameCube games (MOH is for all 3 consoles and PC)

It has everything in it, a decent story line, stealth, puzzles, racing and very good graphics for the PS2, but the best part of the game is you have to take pictures of objectives to advance thru the game. You also take pictures of all the different animals in the air, sea, land and space. If you play this game for an hour you'll be hooked and want to play it again.
Besides that try <A HREF="http://www.gamerankings.com/htmlpages2/529305.asp?q=fatal%20frame">Fatal Frame</A>
, if you dont mind real scary games this one is loosly based on a true story.
If I were you these would be a must have.

Not my recommendations but family member. Final Fantasy 7 for Playstation but will play in PS2 but need PS1 memory card. Dragon Warrior 8. Black. 24.

Final Fantasy X, God Of War is awesome...I also recommend picking up the Slinter Cell games all three are really good...
