way too many people with onboard graphics

onboard graphics (and to a much lesser extent onboard audio) is the enemy!

even if you dont do any gaming or video playback, dedicated graphics is a must. just get SOMETHING that will free up the 64mb allocated to onboard crap

I have a video card! I bought it for 50 bucks, as PCI cards are getting expensive these days (no AGP port )

              They should all work.

@futurex, I was in sixth grade when I got it. How would I have known?

any pci card will work in a pci slot, regardless of manufacturer.

this is not to be confused with pci express

Right. Depending on what you need it for, 64MB should work. Mine was an nVidia GeForce 4000, works great. Don't notice a difference from the internal one that I disabled, but as long as Return of the King will open I'm good

the difference is you lose 64mb ram to primarily store textures. decrease in performance

I mean the one that you can add another internal hard drive, I am not gambling just encode and burning and internet.

what is need to add to do multiworks?

any decent pci card is overpriced for what you get, they have to use better memory to compensate for the slower pci interface

does it mean I have to buy dell memory ( another stick 512)? or any memory, and any pci to compensate the 64 lost?

If I had 512 megs and onboard graphics with no agp slot and was sharing 32 or 64 for video, I would add another 512 instead of using a pci card.

if buying another mobo was out of the question, same here
