Samsung 32" LCD TELE - Freeview

Hi,

I have a samsung 32" lcd tele with built in freeview doe's any 1 know if its possible to record from the digital tv channels and if so how??

All these hi-tech tv's are great but whats the point if you can't do things like you could in the 70's like just record a your favorite tele progam!!!

I used to record from my IDTV to a DVD Recorder and I wouldn't recommend it. The reason is that the TV has to send the Freeview through the scarts to the recorder (VHS or DVD). The recorder is then set to the scart input the scart lead is on and press record It can only do this when the TV is on and whilst recording, the TV cannnot be switched off or change channel.

I would recommend getting a cheap digibox (as low as £30 now). Then attach it by scart to the recorder and record from that. I have my box on AV2 off my reorder so have to keep the recorder on AV2 input to see and record the digibox. Then, while that is recording, you can then watch another digital channel using the tuner in the IDTV. Just select the second channel you want using the TV remote.

get a PVR or DVR

A DVR with built in Freeview is the best solution. Also go for on with a HDD if you plan to record a lot.

Thanks. I do have a freeview box connect to the dvd recorder i was just hoping to gett rid of 1 of the many baxes littering my room!! guess that not to be!!!
