Absolutely atrocious way to get put out of the cup. But Italy was down to 10 men, too and that ref had shown he was in a mean mood when he sent the Italian fella off.

We are proud tonight. Without our big guns Kewell and Emerton, we took it up to one of the favourites and perhaps might have won. A semi-final was not out of the question had we got past Italy.

But now our coach goes to Russia and we must start all over again - but very confident that we can match it on the world stage - even though soccer is our 4th football code (but very growing).

Congratulations to Italy and yes, bad luck to us (but all in all, I would have preferred to get beaten 4-0, not the way we did get beaten).

I caught the end of the game, and fair does to your boys they battled hard and didnt deserve to go out like that. Well played Australia.

didnt watch the game...but i think each team should at least have its own coach in some way world cup could become like champions league,and that wouldnt be ok since in a way this is a nationalistic contest
on this cup i think there were 3 croatian coaches....damn why cant we get to the 2nd round!!??

Yeah France won but the free kick awarded for the equaliser was a joke - Thierry Henry (Arsenal and France) should hang his head in shame, he went down holding his face and he wasn't even touched there....

All that after he publicly criticised the Barca players for doing the same thing in the Champions League Final.....

Honestly the refs are getting mugged in these matches.

I don't see the fuss over the nationality of the coach for national sides - imho you want the best coach so you stand the best chance of winning, I wouldn't care if the English coach came from Lesbos..... if they were the best available

theres no fuss...i wouldnt like croatia having foreign coach when we have so many experts working round the globe...and others may do what they think its best for them
