As to having a dvd recorder, I don't think I'd do it. With Tivo and the ability to purchase a season of my favorite shows, I'd rather be lazy and just buy them!
I prefer to buy my DVDs, I record them as something to tide me over until I get around to buying them. Some programmes are not the sort of things that I'll buy, such as Eye For An Eye, World's Craziest Videos, Tarrant On TV etc.

I do the same thing. I record stuff onto DVD-R's and anything I want a proper copy. I get the DVD when it is on sale and then give the DVD-R's away. I just got the latest seasons of CSI on DVD at BOGOF (buy one get one free) and also another 15% off at HMV.

I mostly do my temporary copies on RWs and I can erase them and use the discs again. I don't have time to find out who likes this n' that as a title.

I did a copy of Poseidon. It was something to tide me over until the price drops for the two-disc set.

Another thing I hate about TV is when people that work for the channels talk during the end credits. We can be listening to a classic piece of music and some jockstrap has to ruin it by talking during the music and that jockstrap has to advertise what's on next or later sometime when it's advertised next as a clip after the end credits. Then we feel as if the music was ruined for nothing. What is worse when the screen is split in half for the end credits on the left-hand side and a clip split on the right-hand side with another jockstrap talking. Sometimes we also have the music cut and the end credit on a faster speed. The music is cut because the end credits move faster and this is done through timing so that the end credits and the music finish together. This is because a lot of lamers complain about the end credits taking too much time. Well, sorry if they originaly took up four minutes of their lives for each film before the end credits went faster with cut music.

I hate all the morning newcasters in LA. The women act like dingbats and dress as though they are going bar-hopping. The newcasters use too much slang and I think this is appalling. Is this an example of the dumbing down of America? My 11 yr old could do a better job!

CNN can be pretty sickening, even for a short while. wolf blitzers voice is nausiating, paula zahn with the constant head bobbing while signing off, soledad obrien, miles obrien, tony harris, kyra phillips. not many i can take. anderson cooper is alright though, lou dobbs and all the senior international correspondents...cristianne amanpour, nic roberts, etc...

The TV in England is just getting worse. Paramount, Paramount+1 and Paramount 2 were showing Beverly Hills Cop on all of those channels in the same evening at the same times. The +1 channels were designed to show the same thing an hour later encase whatever the title was missed on the first channel. Why Bevelry Hills Cop was on Paramount 2 as well when it was on two other Paramount channels I'll never know.

There's so many channels showing CSI every evening at the same time and there's three episodes an evening on each channel. One channel had Back-to-back of Cops about three weekends ago where it was on non-stop all Saturday and Sunday, after that it went back to the usual system where there were two episodes on everyday where there were two on about every two hours and this weekend there was another Back-to-back of it. Also, there's other channels showing Cops as well. It's a bloody joke.

I get fed-up with all these police car chase video programmes as well because no matter what series we watch, we've seen all the footage that used in other series' of the same topic.

I say TV channels are killing TV.

By the way, we always have all these programmes where people go into something like Big Brother and each week, somebody is sent home. There's too many of those. Soo, as I thought, we have a programme called I'm A Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here. Encase any of you haven't seen that, it's like Big Brother except the celebrities are in a jungle in Australia. Now Christmas is coming, some of them will still be there. Who in their right mind would want to spend Christmas in a jungle eating bugs and other crap when they could be spending Christmas at home with their families eating Christmas dinner and other lovely goodies?

They have I'm A Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here in the US as well. They use the same jungle. I actually know more celebrity's on the US one than the UK one !

There is no way I would want anything more than Freeview for TV. There is more channels on that than I watch.

I hate all fast car commercials. They use BMW, Lexus, Audi, etc going 150 mph down winding country roads, hugging the inside of all corners. What image/example are they showing? Then they post 'professional driver, do not attempt'. What a joke!!! Wow, I've been meaning to get this off my chest for awhile, that felt good. Gotta go for a spin in my corvette now!!!!!! just kidding.
