I think this is a very useful tip for pet owners.

Comment: Cat owner? A number of years ago i took my cat to the vet to be spayed.When i picked her up after surgery the vet told me i was a knitter.I was so surprised and asked how she knew. During surgery they found wool wrapped around the cats intestines. Could be very dangerous. So hats off to the lady that found a way to keep her cats from jumping in her wool bag. Hope this message is helpful to cat owners.

@ Blu, I havent seen any of the fourth days play yet as I been far to busy so I was only talking about Gillchrist in general terms. I hope to catch the highlights program tonight that ends just as play starts with you, so I'm actually 24 hrs behind the play. Gillchrist does look like his knackered knees are playing him up, I know he suffered terribly over here with them. Ice packs at the end play just to get the swelling down is no fun. It takes a lot of courage to play at the highest level with that kind of pain. I just hope we get him out early every time so that the poor lad can rest his knees!

And Baseball? Isnt that like rounders??

No miracle for you today Jack and tonysmith. Peterson out in the first over due to his intellect not matching his eye. The rest go down swinging.

And that dickwit Tony Greig at the start of play made it out to be the start of an historic and great day of cricket. Who was he fooling? He's always been the commentator I've loved to hate - he's totally hopeless.

Onto Adelaide where we'll go 2 up my boy!

I am with you Blu on this one.In fact the only English commentator I like is Geoffrey Boycott(wasn't a great admirer of his batting though).He does speak his mind pretty well.BTW,he never gave England a chance of retaining the Ashes this time(unless Freddy,Harmison and Pieterson play out of their skins).
And I wish Ricky can overhaul Lara and Sachin in this series itself.Gilly would be better off taking some rest from the ODIs.Brad Haddin proved himself in the few chances he got in the Champions' Trophy.

In a way, I think they are keeping Gilly in the Test side so he can get his form up for the one day'ers pagla. Bizarre! Haddin is clearly now the best keeper technically in Australia. He'll have his shot in the next 2 years.

Yes, Boycott is incisive and knows what he's talking about (and I too remember his long horrible grafted out innings, designed to bore to death, not only opposition bowlers, but also the crowd).

I wonder if Michael Vaughan is about to come back into the English side - I heard a whisper he was fit to play. He is a class act and can change things.

The poms will need to get used to the bouncier conditions out here - and quick. Adelaide will be a flatter pitch, but Perth will be nightmares for them.

Ricky has been in great form - we all groaned when he was given LB on day 2 just short of another "double". Sachin will still be top, when they all retire, I think.

Wonder where Jack is today? Don't suppose he is watching the highlights?

The last day was tailor mad for Geoffrey, we may have stood a chance if he had of been there to grind it out.

Grieg is a complete waste of space and always has been, he certainly doesnt give an English viewpoint on things. The best commentators around at the moment are Richie, Geoffrey and Athers. Richie is the very best of them all, knows the game inside out and is never lost for the right words. I could really do without listening to Bill Lawry, Botham or Mark Nicholas though, they talk more crap than a lecturer on sewers!!!

I doubt Vaughan will be back before the one dayers, even if he is physically fit to play he wont be match fit. Thats are problem at the moment, we are underprepared and not used to the conditions enough to be playing a test match yet. I'm not saying we would have won if we'd have had more warm up games but we certainly wouldnt have been so pathetic. I doubt there will be much improvement for the next test either, back to back tests give you little chance to regain form.

I differ.Ricky will outlast Sachin. With the amount of injuries/operative scars Sachin is carrying, it will be very difficult for him to play for more than 2yrs at the highest level.Even if he does,he will not be able to perform consistently.Ricky is younger and should do well for atleast 4-5 yrs.

@ Jack, I think Barry Richards is also one of the better commentators.Look out for Sanjay Manjrekar in the future.He is pretty honest(had the guts to even criticise Sachin,our HOLY cow!).Ian Bishop is also doing a good job.

My brother loved Bill Lawry when we were kids. I thought his batting was as boring as Boycott's (we used to call him "The Corpse With Pads"), didn't like his nose and was a fan of Simmo. Maybe it was a NSW v Vic rivalry that I didn't appreciate being just 6 or so.

As for his commentary, it's a million percent better than Greig's but not nearly as well thought out as Ian Chappell's, for example. Mark Nicholas is just a pretty face and to have him replace Benaud is a joke. Still, he's got the gig now and we have to put up with him. Mark Taylor isn't bad, but I'd love to see Steve Waugh in there (but he has many things on his mind now).

@pagla - time will tell with the bats. But I think Murali the chucker will outlast Warnie the drug cheat.

@jack - I hope your pathetic lot put up a better performance for the good patrons of Adelaide, who have paid a lotta money to see the poms lose.
