    contemplating buying an Ipod...

those of you that have a video Ipod, how would you rate the quality and ease of use? I am torn between getting a 8 gig nano strictly for music or getting a 30 gig Ipod that can play videos.

if the video quality is bad or a pain to get the files into a usable format than I will just go with the nano.

    thanks for the info...

i bought a 30gig Video for my wife for Christmas after I took the 8 gig nano back. Very glad I did as for the extra $50 or so you will be glad you upgraded. The video and playback is excellent and easy to use. Getting music etc on is very easy along with digital pictures however getting DVD movies on is another matter that I'm working on right now. I have no regrets except maybe I should have got the 80 gig. By the way my wife hasn't used it much because I'm using it all the time. Good luck.

I was given one, spent a weekend trying to get ANYTHING on it and couldn't. Sold it on eBay and got myself a Creative Zen. Had figured out in 10 minutes
That was Zen, this is Tao

We have a Zen (not video), but still love it!

& less $$$ for it too!

I would go for Creative Zen myself as well.

I would never recommend an iPod to anyone. Go with either an iRiver (I have a H320) or a Creative Zen. iPods will only cause you problems. I have had four of my mates trying to be trendy and bought this thing. They each had to send it away to get repaired (pay to send it away) because of shotty workmanship.

If you want to be trendy, buy an iPod. If you want a player that will last long and good value for money, buy one of the two I mentioned above. That's my opinion anyway.

I have an I-pod nano. I think it is great, all you have to know before hand is it works with Itunes. So you have to download it and install it and presto its up and running. A bit of customizable options and it will automatically sync with your entire music collection just by pluging it into your usb. I'd say for sure go for the video aswell. Definatly worth the extra few bucks. Sure some people have had some bad luck with them, but it is an electronic, your chances are pretty equal that anything you buy could be faulty. I'd say go for it.
