Very close game. Leigh Matthews said once that there's an big element of luck when a team wins/loses by under a goal and he's right.

We had our chances, but looking objectively, I think they were the better team on the night (their inside 50s alone were 20% higher).

What we had was a classic game - an attacking team (Geel) vs a real good defensive one (us). I doubt any other team could have limited them like we did.

Funny, when you think we had a crack at Steve Johnson last year and passed on medical grounds. Now, he's all Australian and kicked 3 of their 13 goals against us Us not having Ben Johnson, Ryce Shaw and Josh Fraser (gee, we were murdered in the ruck), certainly didn't help either.

That's life and there's always next year.

i've never been a one-eyed or a blind supporter, mate.
all-in-all, pies should have won. they played a more relaxed game, relying on their experience, where the cats just ran out-of-control (mostly).

i haven't been to a footy match in over 2 decades, mate.
those were the days (early to mid 80's) ... used to go every week.
it's just not fun anymore

Wouldn't knopw - when I go (which is rarely these days, as well), I generally pack my own bite to eat. I can't fathom paying $4 or 5 for a little bucket of chips. Plus, you can't get a can now (they're too scared you'll throw them at the umpire - which is about right, too).

why the big deal about judd ? is he a super player or something ?
you can guess i haven't been closely following the footy. i have heard of him, but know nothing about his skills.
in any case, the blues need more than just 1 player to lift them out of crap ... more like a whole new team
i would have liked if we got sheeds instead
