Why you like where you live so much?

We all live in different places around the world. Why do you like/love where you live.

Well apart from all the nutballs, crime, and just plain insanity that goes on in this New York City, not to forget the smell of fresh garbage in the morning and all the damn noise from firetrucks, ambulances, etc... I love the fact that I don't need a car. Trains, buses and taxis everywhere. The city actually never sleeps. Nothing like just getting up at any time and hitting a Dunkin Doughnuts, Baskin Robbins or getting a nice bagel, or w/e. Every kind of restaurant you could think of. If you drink. No problem. Hundreds of bars, clubs, etc... Not a sin to break your neck once in a while w/all the different women here too. Central Park is nice. Went row boating the other day. The theatres on and off Broadway are great too. Raising a kid. Relocate. Lol... Close to all sports stadiums. Yankee, Shea, Madison Square Garden, Giants and Jets in NJ. Museum Row on 5th ave. These are all the pros. The cons you all know by now.

I live In Utah. We have just about everything that everyone else does,(Except lottery or gambling) but it is our mountains that keeps me here. Less than 5 minutes to fishing, camping, hunting, and in the Winter skiing.

I'm at a temporary stay in a town of 120,000 but will move back to a city of on 8,000 next year.

I love the threats of hurricanes, getting a day off work (paid) because the railroad is shutting down and then never getting a storm.

i love the outdoors myself and after visiting a friend of a friend in Pa. who owned a beautiful house of wood and some form of slated rocks in the mountains i was convinced. maybe 1 day. the change of seasons is good also. I loved the south when i was down there. lived in Ocala, Fl for 2 years. horse country. down the road from Steinbrenner's horse farm, which actually had better living facilities for his thoroughbreads. the waffle houses, Denny's and Cracker Barrel I all miss. Their biscuits and gravy are to die for. might go to Mississippi 1 day and stay by the casinos.

            Well ... I live in Land of Loonies a Blue-State ... a Red-State guy stuck in a Blue-State. You guess where I live!

darn you detectives ... if it is that easy to guess what is the sense of staying anonymous

Not even close dude ... there are more States than CA with 5 lane HWYs ... and when have I ever said "YA'LL" ... to make me out from Texas ... next you will tell me I am Longhorn fan or an Aggie.

No dr_ml ... I just get around ... I love to Travel ... in State though ... I went ot Europe once and that was it for me

In England all the food places close at 9 or 10PM ... so if you are hungry middle of the night on Travel you are SOL'ed ... in France at Restaturants ... the waiter or waitress they know how to speak English ... but they refuse ... and back then I did not know to ASK for the English Menu ... so it was HELL guessing at the menu.

OK ... now I got the urge to watch "Trading Places" ... so I gotta run ... prop my feet up ... open a Beer (that sounds Country and Texan) ...

Oh yes ... my darn dog has gotten alcoholic ... when I drink beer I have pour a little in his bowl ... go figure ... But I love him so!

I have lived all over the country and two months ago I moved my kids from CA to CO to start fresh. I am right up against the Rockies. I see them from every window in the back of the house. I have a yard with 13 trees and large enough to support a herd of Mastiffs.

I wake up in the morning and chose whether to sit on the front deck to see the city or the back deck to see the mountains. I have deer eating my shrubs and can't put the trash out the night before because that momma bear and her cubs will tip the can over. I love it!

                  I moved to heaven ...

PS ... I miss Cracker Barrel's Country Boy breakfast with the hashbrown casserole ...

God's Country. My cousin moved to Maine a couple of years ago and he's been saying that ever since he got there. Dear outside in the morning. Rabbits, moose, bears, racoons, you name it. Also he lives close to the river so throw in boating and fishing. Not to forget Bush senior's compound not too far down the road.

@Kabu. Those biscuits and gravy are literally to die for. I was at about 200 lbs. or more when I was down south. About 175 lbs. now. Went a lil organic. Not too crazy. Still gotta have my steak from time to time. Lol...

@gonwk. Thnx for the compliment. Good luck w/the upcoming election. Any relatives in Alaska. Lol... God Bless America. Better than being in downtown Baghdad. Imagine even bumping a post there. Short sleeve or long? Chop chop...

@ Chewy - I have had the Rockies on my mind the first time I saw them, at 12 years old.
I have lived in 8 states, 2 countries, and of all the places I have been to, I had to come back the these mountains. They were calling me home.

@ dr_ml422 - I gained my share of weight living in New Orleans too ... I am on a veggie diet now, but I am not a big fan of meat anyway. I eat mostly Japanese foods since that's what I grew up on.
