    Detecting tv for video card

I have a geforce 2 mx 400 w/tv out. It worked fine until one day the tv out stopped working. I checked all my connections and drivers. Now i can't choose to display on the tv.

This particular card has to "detect" that the tv is there before it will allow you to select the tv out option (using the gforce drivers). You need to ensure that the cable is good, drivers are good, and that the tv is ready to accept the signal (set to the particular av/s-video input) BEFORE you can see the tv out option appear.

You could also try tvtool. It will allow you to select tv out no matter what.

      Thanks Mac

It works with tvtool i would like to know why it doesn't work normally anymore though. If anyone has had this problem and fixed it.

Have you changed your operating system - upgraded lately? Have you installed anything new? Could be a couple things. If you want to try and use the original video drivers, you could change your display to standard vga drivers, uninstall the video drivers and reinstall them again. Also check to see if there are any updates to your drivers.

In any case, glad you got it to work.
