My apologies if this has been answered here somewhere. I really did spend a lot of time reading and searching! Here goes...
I am trying to make a DVD of my DV.
I am taking DV AVI files into Premiere. Exporting the video to .m2v with CCE plug-in is working, but I can't figure out what to do with the audio. I want to try multipass VBR so CCE won't do the audio, but even if that was not the problem, I don't want to encode to mp3 just to have the authoring program re-encode it again. I have tried export timeline->audio to the different formats that premiere offers (waveform, avi) and naming the files .wav, .m1a, .m2a but have yet had no luck with SpruceUp or Dazzle accepting them as input.
So my question, what steps am I missing or doing wrong? Every guide seems oriented at ripping DVD's so they talk about converting FROM ac3, or at making divx or vcd so they don't talk about separate video and audio streams...
I myself have only done VCD's and divx up till now, but I want to start making DVDs off my DV camera to send to my relatives. I'd also take advice on editing and authoring software, I've tried Premiere and Vegas Video, and DVDIT, SpruceUp, and Dazzle. I would like to stay with CCE for encoding speed/quality reasons, and avoid wasting time going from avi-mp3-ac3 on audio. If my platform matters in regards to your advice, I am running XP and burning with an HP DVD200i DVD+RW to play on Apex AD-1500.
Thanks in advance for as much help as you can give. A link and/or cut and paste from some guide I have missed would be great, otherwise please give some detailed steps if possible, i.e. newbie level info.
