Burning a SVCD to a DVD+r

Hi!, I'm about to purchase a DVD buner and was wondering if I will be able to burn a SVCD compiant file given me hours of play time. Or will I only be able to burn DVD compliant video?

i was wonder this myself, goto vcdhelp.com and there are some guides to making a dvd-svcd, haven't tried it,

1 thing i would go with a dvd-r/rw burner (more compatable on standalones if that is what ur wanting)

Also at www.vcdhelp.com there is a "dvd compatibility" section which you can check up on your standalone dvd player and see what formats it plays and what other users say about it.
