black vertical line & distorted horizontal when capturing

Hi all
I'v been doing some conversions to divx for a while, recently started capturing some video from my dv camcorder through firewire cardP3 800mhz, 512Sdram, GForce 3 64Mb, 7200 Rpm HD) i noticed that when i capture there is that distorted line on the top or sometimes on the bottom (i'm attaching file) does it has to do with the interlacing and progressive display ? Any thoughts or solutions that i can fix that. I know croping would be good to get rid of it but then i'm changing format from 720x480 to something else (i want to keep 720 x 480) to burn it back to dvd leater I there a way to go around that problem will it even show on done and edited dvd when played on tv ?

P.s i'm using pinnacle studio 8 to capture and edit.

I guess the problem is just with the display (progressive vs interlaced) because when i edited my video and did the burn onto cdr as svcd and then back to the dv videocam. Both came out good playing back on tv quality was really good no lines black or the distorted ones. Not an issue anymore. Thanks.
