audiop problem with DVD slideshow

I am a novie at this stuff, and bought Roxio DVD creator v.5 to create a slideshow of photos set to music for our upcoming wedding. I have got all the slides appearing as they should, but as I add music (several songs spliced together into one .wav with Audacity program), the beginning of each song skips drastically, and then, after a few seconds, catches up with itself, and normalizes.

I have seemingly tried everything. DVD is fine (no scratches). .Wav plays otherwise fine via CD or on computer. What can I do!?!?!

It seems to have to do with the encoding/burning process....I burn at 2.4x - is that too slow? Is something else not set right?

I find Roxio to be as useless as a hole in the head, but thats just me. Try a process of elimination by using different programs for burning. try Record Now Deluxe, you can get it from my signature - full 30 day trial
