General questions - general tips?
Hi,
I am new here and wanted to ask some general questions about DVD authoring.
1. Once I burn a DVD+RW (like with Sonic DVDit), how can I erase the disk to re-use it? I tried with DirectCD, and now Sonic thinks it's a CD-R (650MB) instead of a DVD (4.7GB)!
2. I captured some stuff with a Dazzle card. Is there a recommended resolution/bitrate to use to get a movie to come in under 4.7 GB? I can only fit half a movie on a DVD (of course, it's at 720x480 and about 3000 kb/s, but it looks KILLER!). DVDit converts the AVI to MPEG-2, so if I start with a smaller resolution/bitrate, how low can I got before it looks crappy?
3. Any recommendations on variable bit rate?
4. Can I create my the VOB files on my hard drive first to see what the size will be? What's the best affordable software to do this?
