    Subpicture

I generally use DVDshrink and am just checking, but am I right in assuming subpicture is just another term for subtitles and is not necessarily needed in an authored dvd movie. If I'm wrong in my assumption then would someone please put me straight on this. Thanx in advance

Subpictures are used for subtitles and button highlighting, however the subs you can remove in Shrink are only subtitles.

"however the subs you can remove in Shrink are only subtitles."

That is not necessarily true, if you read some of the "tales of woe" in the DVD Shrink-specific sub-forums here.

The safest advice to give anyone (who doesn't have a VERY deep understanding of the DVD file structure) is - Sub-picture files are TINY (a few Mbs at most). Keep ALL of them and you won't run the risk of inadvertently creating a DVD with a non-functioning menu...
