region-free?

One more question: If I'm in the U.S. and use a Region 1 DVD player and copy primarily Region 1 DVDs, do I have any reason to make those DVDs region-free using IfoEdit?

If I can hack my player and make it region-free, do I need to make the disc region-free as well, or would the player than conceivably play all DVDs?
