    Waves after capturing DV

Captured DV from my video camera (Sharp) with Pinnacle Studio 7. Encoded .avi to mpeg2 with tmpgenc so I could author and burn to DVD. The resulting mpeg has issues. The video was a surprise birthday party, and the video looked like it had waves in it whenever flashes from cameras would go off. Also, whenever zooming or panning was going on, it's wavy. When the camera was held still, the video looks fine. The .avi looked great, it just became wavy after encoding it to mpeg. I tried CCE and Procoder as well, with the same results. Any ideas?

By the way, my PC is as follows:

    AMD Athlon XP2000
    512 RAM
    Big hard drive

I did not try capturing it again from the camera with different software, perhaps I should.

Use one of TMPGEnc's de-interlace filters when converting...
