rendering in sonic foundry vegas 4.0

Im using Vegas to render my movies, but I think it is very slow...
One hour movie takes about 2-2½hour to render without any special effects or things like that...

Is this normal?

Is there faster apps with same functions?

How to get Vegas work faster?

I run it on Windows XP Pro, P4 2.6GHz, 768MB DDR and GeForce FX5600 Card 128MB... Is this to slow??
