recording from mediaplayer?

is there any program that can record the movie or visual effect shown in a media player, like windows media player?

would like to record the visual effect and then use the file for dvd burning... is this possible?

I do it another way so that I get max frame rates on the visuals.

By capturing with another PC the video out from the PC
using a DV converter or capture card/box.

Yeah, shure it's very nice, but everybody doesn't own 2 computers... (2 good computers...)
