    Standard screen to Widescreen

    Hi
    Is there any way we can change the format from standard screen DVD to widescreen while re authoring without distorting the picture.

          You need to perform an Aspect ratio conversion on it. If before you encode to MPEG2, you stretch the vertical to 134%, this will make it look anamorphic. When doing the stretch you will loose part of the top and bottom of the picture, so if you have talking heads etc you may need to key frame which part of the picture is visible.

          When you author your DVD, you then tell the authoring package that it is 16:9 video you are using.
