    replace sound (very new)

OK...I recorded a praise band at our church via master out into my laptop. I also used a DV recorder which captured audio and video. That audio is terrible. I want to replace the audio on the DV (which I have captured as mpg file on the computer) with the master audio. What program do I use to do that and is it hard?

I have Premiere 6.0, but I haven't used it much.
    Thanks!

    TMPGEnc or TMPGEncPlus

    File>>MPEGTools>>Simple DeMultiplex
    Save the videostream

    File>>MPEGTools>>Simple Multiplex
Load the saved videostream and the master audio
    Save with a new filename (e.g. "NEW.MPG")

Great. How do I line them up? I guess the cirrect term is sync? Does that program let me move the sound to match the video?
      Thanks fo the quick response!

That's a bit more tricky, if they were not recording with any sort of time code or sync marker. First, see if you can find an event on both the video and audio streams to set as a sync point, and then try cutting the audio and video streams at that point and see what happens when you combine them, as per setarip's instructions. From there, you can make finer adjustments using an audio processing program to bring the two further into sync.
