Help Me Please!!! AVI problems

I have been trying everything to get this thing to work. Main Concept Encoder, TMPGEnc have both stopped being able to load AVI files. They just say invalid file format. Windows Media player etc load the AVI to watch fine, but thats it.

Anyone have any ideas?......it has to be a codec problem. Ive reinstalled all I can like media player, divx player, media encoder.

maybe the file's corrupt. try running it thru VirtualDub, under video tab run check for errors and save with new file name.
