*newbie alert* dvd-ram > dvd authoring help!

hi everyone, cool forums! im new to the game of pc-based dvd recording / authoring only having purchased a pioneer 170d yesterday.

i have successfully backed up two movies so far using dvd shrink, dvd43 and clonedvd2 without any problem.

now... time to move onto the big task!

my parents have a panasonic hardware dvd recorder and i have some material stored on a dvd-ram recorded from it. is it possible i could rip the video contained then edit the contents (material was recorded from tv) and remove the 2nd show which i dont want on the new dvd-r disc at all?

another quick question is - how hard is it to create useable menu screens?

thankyou for your time and your help is greatly appreciated!

good news! i ran a little test to see if it was possible to copy the video over from dvd-ram > iso > dvd-r and it works! i would still like to find out how i can trim down the video contained however so any assitance in that department would be excellent!
