making home theater dvd

Needing some advice on the best way to go about making a home theater intro dvd. One that will display some cool graphics and audio from some of my dvd collection. Is there some easy software that will let me copy files or segments of dvd's, edit them and then record to dvd. What's the best way to make something like this?
