Recoding Audio From Dvd After Converting

After days of looking through web pages and unable to find an answer I have decided to put it out for an answer.

I have recoded my DivX files into DVD and have found that the sound quality on some of them are not the best.

Is there a way that I can rip out the audio, improve the quality and re-attach it back to the original film?

I'm sure somebody knows the answer.

If the audiostream is either .WAV or .MP3, use GoldWave (or CoolEdit) to extract and alter the audio from your DivX-compressed .AVI file...

No one will appreciate such a remark - especially when you're seeking assistance...
