AC3 questions.

Hi.

Can anyone provide answers to the following questions? Please answer *all* questions, even if the answer is "I don't know." Thanks very much.

1. What is AC3?

2. I burned a TV program to DVD-R on my Sansui set-top DVD recorder. When I went to work with the DVD using Roxio Easy Media Creator 7/Basic edition for Windows XP Pro, it gave a message that said something like...

Roxio has detected that this DVD has AC3 audio; in order to work with this audio format, you need to get the "Full" version of Easy Media Creator 7.

3. I purchased a copy of Vegas+DVD. Can anyone tell me if Vegas will handle the AC3 audio?

1. Dolby Digital. You would have recorded Dolby Digital 2.0 (2 channel stereo). Dolby Digital goes up to 5.1 (surround sound with subwoofer).

2. You answered it. You need the full version to get AC3 to work.

3. Files with up to AC3 5.1 can be imported.
