tmpgenc dvd author 1.6 error all of a sudden!

just today for the first time ever, i got an error with this program when i click "create new project". first "invalid pointer operation", then "error occured at address 00222525" .after uninstalling then reinstalling it, then i decided to check the environmental settings. even though i never touched them before i saw that the temp folder was set to other than my standard output folder. what the heck could cause this "glitch"? anyways when i set it back to where it always was....so far all is back to normal. anyone encounter something like this?
