ImgTool w/ DVD+RWs, always "please insert empty disk" errors

I am new to ImgTool, and have followed the excellent guide posted here for using it with DVD shrink to backup a DVD.

The problem is that even after freshly erasing a DVD+RW, I keep getting this error.

I'm using the latest 1.06 version, and I've tried this with a couple of brands of media.

Any ideas of how to fix this? TIA, Dave

If I remember correctly, IMGTool requires that you also have a legitimately registered version of NERO installed...

Indeed it does, and I do (latest version...)

      Thanks for the reply.

Curious to know, are you performing just a "quick erase" or a "full erase"?

I'm personally not a user of IMGTool - so I went to Cujo's (author) site to see if there was any pertinent information there. Have you put a checkmark in the box labelled "Enable DVD+R/RW high compatibility mode (recommended)"?
