    PCM audio om DVD+r?

    Hi there!

I Just got my dvd recorder to day. And started to backup som of my DVDs. This site has been very helpful so far.

I alsow would want to backup my cds. I'm not to fond of lossy compression. So I was wondering if there is a way I could burn a DVD with 2ch PCM, and play it in my DVD player in the livingroom? I should be able to fit 5 cds on one DVDr.

    Has anyone tried this?

    Thx

"TMPGEnc DVD Author" (different than "TMPGEnc") will accept Uncompressed PCM (.WAV) audiostreams for input...

Hmm... I tried that, but it did not work for me. The program just replied that "This is an illegal video file".

All I realy want, is a CD, but on a DVD

I Tried the trial version of Adobe Premier. There I got to make a DVD without the video track, just the audio track.

      Three problems:

      1. It came out as one big audio track on my DVD player. (I'm sure I'll find a way to fix this though.

      2. The program used a long time aprox one houre. ( on a dual athlon 1700). It didn't just write the PCM files to the disc. I think it might have made them into 48khz.

      3. It's a trial versjon of the program.

I can't be the only one who want to have audio on DVDs. But it seems to be hard to find any info on this.

      Thanks for your help anyway.

My apologies - I guess I focused exclusively on you statement, "So I was wondering if there is a way I could burn a DVD with 2ch PCM, and play it in my DVD player" - and completely overlooked the fact that you were referring to audio ONLY.

I'm not aware of any software or methodologies available for creating audio-only DVDs...
