Problems with Plextor 8X drive and Memorex DVD-R

I just installed this software and was hoping to be able to make some back ups of my movies. So far I have attempted 3 movies and failed on all three. The first movie was Casino (this movie burned everything but the main menu for some reason). The other two attempts both failed to play (I tried them all on 3 different DVD players). Is there something that I am missing??

First here is what I have...Dell 400SC P4 3.2 w/HT and a Plextor 8x DVD burner. I am using the Plextor and DVD shrink to "shrink" the files onto my computer. I then use Roxio "Drag-to-Disk" to write the files to the DVD. It goes all the way through but just will not play.

I noticed that on the orginal DVD's all of the files are in a "VIDEO_TS" folder. Is this completely necessairy or no? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Sorry...after reading the post I realized that I had missed a few things. First, the only movie that would even play was NOT in a "VIDEO_TS" folder (note that was also the one that would not play the menus. Also I came accross another movie (Gone in 60 seconds) that has both a "VIDEO_TS" and a "AUDIO_TS" folder. Are these folders screwing me up or is there anything else that any of you could think of that I am missing?

I am buring at 4x with Memorex DVD-R media.
