LG GSA-4040B rips really slow...

I am using the LG GSA-4040B and it only rips between 1x and 2x. It also only burns at around 2x.

I am using Win2K, XP2000 processor, 100 GB WD 7200 RPM hard drive, and DVD Decrypter 3.1.7.0

It should be doing a lot better than this.

If anyone has any possible solutions.

I have the same drive and it rips on average 4-5x. It can go as high 8x.

The discs will usually start slow at 2x and go up higher as it goes further into the DVD.

What speed are the discs you are using.

Have you got DMA enabled?

I think I have DMA set up. I am currently ripping something so I will have to restart later. The media I am using is Memorex DVD+R 4x media. I really doubt that is the problem. Would not having DMA enabled cause this lack of speed both ways? I thought that when Win2k set the driv up that it would default with DMA enabled.
