Last files harder to read on DVDRW's

    Hi,

I seem to be encountering a strange problem with burning both DVD-RW's and DVD+RW's with my Sony DRU-510A burner. I have been storing a number of DivX movies on to DVDRW's and have found the movies first burnt on the DVD readable but the later the file is in the burn the harder it is to read, to the point where the last files/movies are sometimes unreadable and produce cyclic redundancy errors (I've checked the cleanliness of the disks and burnt at the slowest speed), I thought that maybe it's the DVDRW brand (Digi Media) but would expect poor reading ability to be across the whole disk not just at the end. Any ideas?

From the many postings at these sub-forums (particularly the DVD Shrink-related sections) regarding this topic, it's apparent that poor manufacturing quality most often rears its ugly head at the outer edge (last to be burned) of the disc...

That being the case it definitely makes sense. I'll get my hands on some DVDRW's of a quality know brand and see how it goes, thanks for your help.
