Device not ready error...using dvd author

I keep getting "device not ready" error when using TMGENC dvd author.

Any ideas why?

The dvd writer works fine w/ nero and other programs.

I am using Win XP...so that should not be the problem.

Any ideas?

I am this close to finally burning a DVD!

Did you obtain TMPGEnc DVD Author by means "other than purchase or 30 day trial"?
