Hi If some one could help me on the issue. On certain movies eg MIB when I put the backed up dvd in my stand alone player, the first screen that starts up is the "univeral pictures" intro. This comes out all jerky. This sometimes makes the player stop and eject the movie. But once it passes the intro, and goes into the menu screen, everthing plays back normally. The only other time it some times happens is when I go and change the sound field to Dolby Digital or DTS. This is when you get the Dolby intro which also jerks and sometimes again my player ejects the movie.
On some other movies eg teminator 3, my player struggles to move from menu to menu screens when you havemultiple menu switchs eg copy right intros and then menus and back again.
I use dvd shrink 3.5 and then nero 6 to burn also have tried img tool to burn. I read and burn using a LG GSA-4040B with the latest flash. My stand alone dvd player is a Pioneer 535. I have tried all sorts of media TDK+RW, Verbatum+, Melody+RW. Also tried Shintaro-R. Have tried burning at X1 to X4, all with the same results. When I use DVD shrink, I do compress the menus of the movies so that I can increase the movie picture quality. Is this the normal thing to do?
This happen on some other newer movies, is this some sort of protection? Other near new release movies backup fine. I know I could try backup movie only. I want to keep menus and if it doesn't work, only takes up more time.
As a last resort. If the back up continues to do this, can I extract the movie only of the back up disk or would I have to use the original?
Any help appreciated.
