Getting my Sony DVD-R DWU-14A to work

I have just bought and installed the Sony DWU-14A DVD-R drive in my Athlon based (1.53Ghz) Machine (running XP pro). After it not working (even starting to work!) i flashed it to the sony DRU-510A. It still wont work. It burns CD-R fine. But wont even begin burning my BulkPaq orange 4x DVD-R. using DVD decrypter i get this message...

I have tried at all speeds, and still wont work...

Bulkpaq orange were no good in my NEC1300A despite four firmwares!
It sounds like you've flashed your writer with another model's firmware? I hope I'm wrong!!
I gave up with the orange disks and found an alternative that did work. Have you looked up to see what Sony recommend for your model? Also try http://www.dvdrhelp.com/dvdmedia
