I have a problem my friends and I cannot solve. My dru-510ak would only burn at 1 speed in my p3 500 so I moved it to my main machine - XP1800 (1.53Ghz) 512mb Ram, Gigabyte 7VRXP motherboard.
Ever since the move to the faster box I have had fail after fail. It burns fine every time until the very end and then fails (I think during the lead out only from what I can see)
Even trying to burn at 1speed gives the same problem. I can see the data on a few of the failed dvd disks but on others nothing (Obviously because of the failure during writing).
I have tried 2 different versions of Nero Ultra(6.0.0.28/6.3.0.3) and also the software that came with the burner all to no avail. It has frustrated me to the point where I even re-installed windowsXP, fully service packed and all the motherboard drivers updated. Nothing else installed except Nero but still get failures.
I even exchanged the 1st DRU-510AK burner with my supplier but the second new one out of the box still has the same problem. Even doing a simulation burn on Nero causes a failure no matter what speed?!? This is not a media problem either.
Can anyone help. A freshly installed machine with more than enough CPU & RAM yet failure EVERY single time at the end of the burn. I am super frustrated !!!
